WHY NITROGEN IS GREATER THAN OXYGEN

A Crash-Course in Inflation Safety

Even if you’re one of the only 8% of drivers that properly inspect your tires and their pressure every 30 days, inflating with high-purity nitrogen is the superior alternative.

THE SCIENCE

So you’ve been using air for 100 years and since air is already +/- 79% nitrogen, why bother? Well, it’s this +/- 20% of Oxygen in the air used to inflate your tires that is most problematic. Eliminating this smaller, wetter, and dirtier mixture yields all the difference.

CONSISTANT PRESSURE

Oxygen is an integral component of Water (think the “O” in H20); without it, water can’t exist. Without water, expansion and contraction is minimized… meaning tires remain more accurately inflated across temperature ranges (like during normal driving, seasonal climate changes, and altitude variations).

JUST PRESSURE

Most modern air compressors operate on internal combustion engines, a process that adds even more water, oil, and particulate to the air it’s compressing, and subsequently, dispensing into your tires. These contaminates have no place inside a tire… causing condensation, rust, rot, oxidation, and corrosion to rubber, metal, and plastic. While expensive filtration and refrigerated air drying equipment help with these pollutants, but even they can’t eliminate the “O”.

THE BEST TYPE OF PRESSURE

So you’ve been using air for 100 years…

Due to it’s molecular composition and relatively small size, oxygen reacts with rubber in such a way that allows it to leak (permeate) from a tire almost 4x faster than Nitrogen. This is why you’ve been having to add air to your tires every 30 days for the past 100 years...because 20% of the air in your tire (the oxygen) has been leaking 2 3psi every month! Larger and more structurally robust, Nitrogen inflated tires shouldn’t lose this pressure in 6 months or more.

Longer Tire Life

Under-inflated tires prematurely wear at the edges and over-inflated tires prematurely wear down the middle, while properly inflated tires wear just right, and can last up to 30% longer.

Better Fuel Economy

Have you ever ridden a bike with flat tires? It’s MUCH harder, right? Same principal applies to your automobile; under-inflated tires force engines to work harder (wear), require more energy (fuel) and produce more emissions (exhaust). In fact, American’s waste 1.2 billion gallons of fuel every year due to underinflated tires alone. Properly inflated tires can reduce your own vehicle’s fuel consumption as much 10%

Safely
SAFE-T-FLATED

An estimated 1 in 4 tires on the road today are under inflated. Under-inflation creates a poor contact patch with the road, causing sluggish handling, longer stopping distances, poor traction, and is the leading cause of catastrophic tire failure (blowouts) at highway speeds.

NITROGEN GENERATION REINVENTED TIRE INFLATION REDEFINED

Ok, so the truth is… NITROGEN is actually LESS than Oxygen. In fact, NITROGEN lacks ALL of the bad stuff that comes with air, yielding exactly what you want in your tires, just pressure. Replacing the oxygen that composes the air in your tires with high-purity nitrogen from a Safe-T-Flate Nitrogen Generation system is the most effective, reliable, and SAFEST inflation medium available for your tires. So, while N² is technically LESS than O² in this regard, it’s SO MUCH MORE to you, your vehicle, and its passengers.
